New FS Women's Programme

Date: 03/04/2008
Content: NCGE Flying Start is delighted to offer another Flying Start Programme for Women in July 2008, building on the success of the first Women's Programme in January 2008. The Programme will launch in Sheffield in July 2008.

The Flying Start Programme for Women is an initiative of the National Council for Graduate Entrepreneurship and Yorkshire Forward. It will take place during July 2008 at The Park Inn. The programme will be completely free for participants.

The Flying Start Programme for Women has been developed in response to research conducted by the NCGE which found that many women graduates prefer to attend women only programmes. The Programme will provide practical assistance to women graduates who commit to start a business based in the UK in the next 12 months.

The Programme is a 12 month scheme which takes a practical hands-on approach to business and the entrepreneurial mindset. It aims to assist graduates to launch businesses within the 12 months, integrate graduate entrepreneurs into a supportive and expert regional and national network, provide specific industry advise and expertise, and generate realistic action plans for each business. The Flying Start Programme begins with a 3 day intensive residential delivered by a national core team of start-up experts. In the following 12 months the participants attend regional follow-up events and will be supported by Programme mentors and business support professionals.
