| QED Consulting are pleased to announce that the second UK Bio-Entrepreneur School will take place at BioCity Nottingham from 26 to 28 February 2008 with sponsors including the BBSRC, Nottingham Science City, Adamson Jones and PwC. The QED Bio-Entrepreneur School is open to all aspiring entrepreneurs who are planning to commercialise their bio-related idea or who have already started their business in this rapidly expanding bioscience and biotechnology sector. The School will have a strong focus on developing entrepreneurial potential as well as exploring the viability of business ideas. It is delivered by seasoned entrepreneurs and business professionals and will help delegates improve their business skills, overcome confidence barriers to starting up in business and introduce them to like-minded peers who will be able to support them well into the future. The School will be delivered in a facilitative style involving training, exercises, case studies, discussion, networking, mentoring and presentations. Individual sessions are intensive and challenging and lead up to a friendly ‘Dragons Den’ style competitive pitch to a panel of experts in the art of starting and growing a business. This is followed by signposting to further business support and the awarding of Bio-entrepreneur Certificates for attendance on the School. Just 30 places are available and we are looking for people with bioscience and biotechnology ideas in the healthcare, medical, agriculture, marine and industrial areas, whether pre-start or early stages of start-up. The School will be particularly relevant for recent graduates and post-docs, academics, researchers, people working in industry and people working in a small business. |
