| Detail: | Following twenty one successful Workshops, RENT XXII will take place in Covilhã, Portugal. The University of Beira Interior and the Management and Economics Department will host it. In line with traditions, RENT XXII will be organised in order to stimulate dialogue and reflections about the importance of Entrepreneurship as an engine for Regional Development. The research in entrepreneurship and small business has prospered and grow considerably during the past decade in all European countries. Remarkable development has taken place in the research frameworks and methodologies respectively. Progress in the field of entrepreneurship is not only triggered by the exchange of ideas and new analyses that derive from the interaction among the entrepreneurial community, the policy makers and the academic community. The main theme for the 22nd Annual RENT Conference is: Entrepreneurship as an Engine for Regional Development. Submissions of any aspect of entrepreneurship and small business development are welcome, but preferably concerning the following issues: Entrepreneurship and Regional Development, Entrepreneurship Education, The role of universities in fostering entrepreneurship, Spin off processes and knowledge transfer, Support infrastructure for entrepreneurial ventures and business incubation, Entrepreneurial Process: From Creation to Growth, Entrepreneurial Finance and Venture Capital, Innovation and Technological Entrepreneurship, Corporate entrepreneurship / intrapreneurship, Technology Commercialisation and its impact on entrepreneurial activities, Globalisation and SMEs, Family firms, International Entrepreneurship, Networks and Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship and Corporate Social Responsibility, Green Entrepreneurship, Historical and Cultural ‘Milieu’ and Entrepreneurial Culture, Entrepreneurship and Regional Open Innovation Systems, Entrepreneurship and special interest groups (women, ethnic minorities, …), and Regulation and Entrepreneurship. Those who wish to present a paper at the conference should submit a 3 page abstract in English (3 A4 pages - 12 points - single space between lines) by June 1st 2008. |
