| The High Impact University Business and Industry (HIUBI) Community is composed of key stakeholders in the UK university business, enterprise and innovation space. The Community has been brought about by the catalyst of participating in a unique event hosted by Microsoft and NCGE on Tuesday 18th December 2007, and held in association with UNICO, AURIL and IKT. Around 200 delegates and speakers registered for the event, representing around 90 HEIs and other organisations in the knowledge tranfser area. The Community will work together to achieve practical action through the HIUBI ACTION TRACKER. Four Action Tracks will focus on: * Facilitating interaction within internal university communities to create more knowledge-based businesses [Championed by the NCGE and Microsoft UK] * Increasing, facilitating and enhancing university practitioner and professional self-learning [Championed by the Institute for Knowledge Transfer(IKT), Association for University Research and Industry Links (AURIL), and the Higher Education Academy(HEA)] * Measuring the impact of university interaction and interface with business and society [Championed by UNICO, IKT, and UK Business Incubation (UKBI)] * Improving the external interface between universities and business and society that will result in the creation of more knowledge-based businesses [Championed by Microsoft UK, and AURIL] |
