Entrepreneurs in Europe on YouTube

07/01/2008
The Lisbon Council for Economic Competitiveness and Social Renewal is a think tank and policy network committed to defining and articulating a mature strategy for managing current and future challenges. The network comprises concerned citizens, top economists, public figures, NGO leaders, business strategists and leading-edge thinkers, and seeks to tackle the major economic and social challenges of our times. Key activities for the Council are solution-oriented seminars, thought-provoking publications, media appearances and public advocacy.

In 2007, the Lisbon Council established a network of entrepreneurs, focusing on the people who make entrepreneurship happen: individuals with the vision to start new ventures and enterprises. The Entrepreneurs in Europe network convened for the first time in Brussels in November 2007 for the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Day. A video summary of the gathering is now available on YouTube.

Together with partners KBC Group and Oracle, the Council is looking to expand the Entrepreneurs in Europe network, and make it a useful forum for entrepreneurs across Europe. Two initiatives are in progress. A social networking site will be established at www.entrepreneursineurope.eu , to serve as a platform where entrepreneurs can meet, exchange ideas and find useful information, particularly as it pertains to the opportunities that Europe offers.

Secondly, in 2008, the Lisbon Council in general and the Entrepreneurs in Europe Initiative will be a global partner for Global Entrepreneurship Week. This year, the Council will convene its Innovation and Entrepreneurship Day during Global Entrepreneurship Week, which will take place from 17-23 November 2008.
